Here is a great Elk from the Colorado western slopes. This bull has some unusual coloring around the eyes and nose. (see attached photos) Not to mention a very light colored hair on his coat. Sometimes wildlife are found that have a reduced or abnormal pigmentation and this elk appears to have some variation of that without being a fully albino colored example.
This bull has a very stately pose with the head up and facing to his left for a great pose. Very expertly done taxidermy workmanship on this example along with a good pose and solid rack have earned this item a “Premier” rating. This is a rating for overall quality and desirability as a Northern Rockies elk. He has 6 points on each side (12 point Eastern count). This rack is not a real heavy rack, but does have good tine length and is just a great set of antlers.
This mount would look great in the trophy room at home or as a display piece at the business. He would make a great addition to any big game species collection of North American wildlife. Overall dimensions for this are 32″ deep x 69″ high x 41″ wide. Maximum width at widest point outside measurement is 37 0/8″. Each beam measures a little more than 44″ (inches) in length.
