Description
This is the largest Stone Sheep that we have come across! A great ram with over 36″ horns and having a lot of mass. First let’s discuss the taxidermy work on this item. It has a head up pose with a slight turned head looking to his right into the room. A beautiful cape with coloring from white on the face and chest fading to a deep gray over the shoulders and back. Workmanship is exquisite and worthy of our highest grade.
Now on to the horns on this Canadian Ram (it was taken in British Columbia, Canada). Great horn size with the longer horn measuring just over 40″ in length. Sadly, the left horn has some “brooming” and is just over 36″ long. (Brooming is the abrasion and wearing down of the horns from fighting and rubbing against the ends.) If it matched the longer horn, we would be looking at a Boone & Crockett All-Time Book set of horns. As it is, still it will gross measure 164 7/8″ (inches) and would qualify for the Awards Class in B & C Club. Large bases measure 12 5/8″ each. A true trophy class set of horns on this Stone Sheep.
This mount hangs on a single, well-secured fastener. Bracket for hanging is provided and installed on the back. Mount measures 30″ tall, 27″ wide and 26″ deep (wall to nose). Buy this taxidermy mount for addition to a group of North American wildlife mounts or use as a stand-alone trophy. Display this piece in the lodge, showroom or business.
