Description
This is great “Vintage” Fallow deer mount. A good looking shoulder mount with excellent taxidermy work. This buck has a very nice set of horns and is certainly worthy of being mounted as he is. Mount pose is head up and facing very slightly left, looking into the room. This buck at some point damaged his ear either in a fight or was born with it and the artist mounted it to reflect his injury.
Fallow deer differ from North American deer species in that they have a “palm” type antler that is similar to what can be seen in moose. They are native to Europe and Asia, but have been introduced in several other locations, including North America.
This buck has a very nice set of horns and would look great with a collection or as a stand alone item for the home, cabin, lodge or business. Overall mount measures 43″ tall x 22″ wide x 24″ (inches) deep. He hangs on a single, well-secured screw or fastener.
